STARZ N BLACK shows movies form African-American directors, with the empasis being on us....neway, i watched BELOVED last night, the movies based on Toni Morrison's book of same name, stars Oprah/Danny Glover/Thandie Newton/Kimberly Elise....i had forgotten how well done that film was until last night, Thandie should have gotten SOME sort of recognition as she portrayed "beloved" extrememly well, Oprah and Danny portrayed their characters well also, for those of you who don't know the story, Sethe(oprah's role), murders her children rather than allow them to be taken BACK into slavery after her "28 days" of freedom, she had run away and had sent her children off first to her mother-in-laws home....Beah Richards played that role, and she was her usual graceful self(man will she be missed!) Needless to say she was deemed "crazy" after that move, and people stayed away from her except, Danny, who didn't know her history.....really a good movie, but, u need to play close attention as the dialect is sometimes hard to follow, but, a good watch!

my mother was born! it's also is President's day, so, she gets a "double" celebration so to speak.......i did NOT do to her what she did to me on my special day...i not only sent her a gift, but, i called her to wish her a happy day....i refuse to be petty as she, and besides that, Fannie Mae would be disappointed that i behaved as my mother did, two wrongs do not make a right as the elders used to say........now, Tim Hardaway is so sorry for his anti gay statements, and can no longer "represent" the Miami Heat in further "team related" ventures.....i say good for the NBA, his rant was no less despicable than Mel's or Micheal Richards....when are people going to LEARN that prejudice is the same IRREGARDLESS of what u are claiming to hate? His tirade was simply dumb, and nw he thinks saying "i'm sorry" will fix it....u almost have to laugh @ the childishness of it all......sadly i maust admit that is WHY my mother and i have the sad relationship that we now have, she simply cannot get around the fact that i am gay, she feels as Tim Hardaway does..........oh well......have a good week!

here in STL is truly a joke IF you've ever had the pleasure of a REAL Louisiana Mardi Gras...i had the pleasure some years ago BEFORE it became a dangerous affair...man, did Elsie and I have a blast partying and running around, and Preservation Hall!!!!oh boy, could those ole cats PLAY some jazz.....memories of a time LONG gone, and as New Orleans still has not recovered from HK, they just had another TORNADO come through and tear up what little work that had been done.....for those of you who don't know New Orleans, the history/culture/food/pastries, i feel very sad for you as you have missed a real gem.......but, as it's supposed to be snowing 2morrow(again!) u can bet who WON'T be in Soulard...lol...i am too sick of snow and cold, but, as we need the cold weather to get rid of some of these horrible germs, i won't say too much....speaking of, wouldn't you know, i would be one of the persons that bought some POTENTIALLY salmonella contaminated Peter Pan????? needless to say, it's in the trash, but, not until AFTER i had eaten a HUGE PBJ sandwich......didn't get sick, but, had very loose stools the next day, and didn't know WHY until i saw the news last night! Sure does make u wonder, that how can a country as prosperous as ours cannnot keep our food products safe from such matters? I mean we do have to eat, so, u'd think the persons responsible for monitoring would be more astringent in their work......oh well, you have a grrreeaaat weekend....as will I..cya

@ THE gRAMMY aWARDS WAS A GREAT THING TO WATCH, ALL THOSE COUNTRY SINGERS PRESENT WERE CRINGING IN THEIR seats.....but, i have always agreed with their displeasure of Bush,and having the courage to speak PUBLICLY regarding thier feelings. IS not only "mysterious"....it's sad...and wasn't she around the same age as Marilyn Monroe when she died? I never really viewed her as a Marilyn look alike, but, she did have similar qualities/behaviors as others have stated, but, the DRAMA that has unfolded around her is what is amazing....and just WHO is Danilyn's father?????and WHY are all these men WANTING to be her dad? and another why is how come the body has to be held? We ALL know Anna Nicole is the mother, so, how come you can't get a DNA sample(and why is her DNA needed?)i mean she WAS pregnant and did give birth, so why must the body not be given a proper burial???? Even in death, MORE DRAMA......GEEESH!

is a very touching documentary regarding the introduction of DNA evidence,and how many persons have been wrongfully accused,AND sent to prison....some persons have been police officers, others were just going about their everyday lives, one young man was accused of raping someone who he had only SPOKEN to in passing.....it makes you wonder just how our justice system really works.....and the sad part id this happens, not only to African-Americans, but, ALL persons....the case in Florida is really sad, as this young man already HAD PROVEN his innocence, but, the state of Florida simply didn't wish to admit they were wrong, and made the lawyers go for another DNA sample on the spem.....can u imagine? THIS time, they chose to ask for the Y-DNA, which STILL proved him inocent, and finally he was released.....how many others are incarcerated for crimes they didn't commit? Please rent this documentary, it will cause you to rethink our justice system......and i mean a LOT!!!!!

first off, i wish to comment on the state of affairs if you are a VET and get admitted to the hospital......Uncle Ray has some coronary blockages present, and where the clogs ARE could be very dangerous....therefore they admitted him to a telemetry floor LAST friday....and he is just today, Wednesday, getting the very much needed cardiac cath!!! Needless to say, he's been "npo after MN" for the past three days, but, according to them, emergencies take "precedence" over admisssions...so, i finally asked the nurse, when does Uncle Ray become important? His MD felt his status was so precarious, that he needed to be admitted, but, we still haven't had the test as of yet.......well, as of 1415, they FINALLY came to get him for the cathterization................secondly, i wish to say, WHY are we having any dialogue @ all regarding Prince's halftime show? and who THOUGHT his guitar resembled a penis while he was playing behind that sheet????? good grief! Prince has changed a LOT form his old school days, and THAT performance was mild, so get a damn grip and get your minds OUT of the gutter.....GEEEESH.....WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY PEOPLE! It was raining cats and dogs, his makeup/perm were ALL jacked up, but, he performed, and didn't complain once, so, pray tell me, WHY are you????

THE INDIANPOLIS COLTS!!!!!!!!! This was one of the good ones, not only because of the win(finally) for Tony Dungy, but, for this historical facts, seeing two African-American coaches on either side of the soggy/rain drenched field was just a beautiful thing.....i was happy that i have lived to see that! Hopefully, this will change the negative stereotypes, and MORE A-A will be seen in the head coach/GM jobs....and maybe, the college circuit will get on the right track, and drop the nonsense, coaching isn't about color, it's about being able to guide/lead/support your team to whatever level they need to reach to get their goal...in this case, the Super Bowl....and what a joy to see the two men, Lovie and Tony hug each other @ the end of the game....true class....i won't talk too badly about the Bears, they started off well, but, had NOTHING for the Colts.....they were a team driven, and it showed, total domination.....CONGRATULATION COLTS!!!!!!!

called FREEDOM WRITERS, stars Hilary Swank, as Ellen Gruell, a fresh-faced educator of high school students right around LA's highest gang infestation......great movie, shows just how Ms. G, touched those kids, and taught them that they were and ARE cared abount members of our society....she showed them love/trust/courage....she had a gift, and used it to inspire young minds, in an envoirnment that had more or less shunned them....and yes, Hilary did the role well with her ususal determination and drive......made ME come home and order the book.....lol

it's been a very nice birthday......rec'd calls from MOST of the family, even uncle B and Aunt Paulette!!! But, of course, my MOTHER, yes, the person who gave birth to me, could only send cards via mail and e-cards!!! Can u believe such pettiness? Same goes with my one and only sister, neither one of them can pick up the phone and call, but, their wimp asses can send emails.........I responded very tersely to Mother's e-card, but, it will be a very cold day in HELL b4 i have much of nething else to say 2 either one of them.......and Mother should be so very ashamed as HER Mother is watching her silly ass behavior, NEWAY, saw the movie, Notes From a Scandal.....Judi Dench is superb, Cate Blanchette is her usual uplifting self, the storey line is somewhat disturbing, i wasn't sure if Judi's role was a true lesbian, or a very demanding/controlling friend.....good watch.....but, see Last King of Scotland first...lol...now, i have to go and study for my test 2morrow..........

was ABSOLUTELY riveting.......Forrest Whitaker gave this role his ALL, i hardly noticed that 2 hours had past....he deserves the OSCAR for his portrayal of Idi Amin, former ruler of Uganda.......man, he had every tic/facial grimaces/charm and charisma/anger/paranoid delusions and greed the cad, himself, was about! I truly felt Idi had come back from his grave, and the atrocity he did to his 3rd wife, played so eloquently by Kelly Washington, was a sight to see....but, i don't want to give too much away, but, please, go and watch this movie.....you WILL be in awe, Forrest finally gets his due, and shows us AGAIN what a wonderful actor he has evolved.......GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!

and i know she must be feeling absoutely horrible knowing she has caused someone's death, by driving too fast, it's not always necessary to drive the speed limit, but, sadly, it's not until something HORRIFIC such as this occurs, do people get the message....i really feel for her, and hope the MEDIA doesn't give her MORE pain. by talking about this tragedy daily, cause you already know how you guys simply LOVE blasting African_Americans in the news......and i am also glad that Isiah Washington has gone into "counselling," his issues truly need to be addressed.....his comments were unnecessary, and thoughtless, i just hope he doesn't lose his job over this.......

There are so few of us coaching, and i honestly can't beleieve that i will be around(hopefully) to see this momentous event.....also, i wish to say GREAT comeback for the Colts, as they were down 18 points @ the half, came back and tied it, then went on to win, and that game was really good.....the Bears did their norm, and simply whupped up on the Saints, but, i must give the Saints their kudos, because they gave the city of New Orleans a glimmer of hope, as that city STILL has not recovered form HK, and simply may not, but, that is anothe blog for another day.......Let's go BEARS and COLTS!!!!! I am so happy for Jennifer Hudson/Forrest Whitaker/Eddie Murphy/Dreamgirls/Helen Mirren/America Ferringna/Grey's Anatomy,Shonda esp. Whereas i haven't seen The Last King of Scotland yet, i have read all reviews, and cannot wait until i do view it, but, this is STL, and we don't get all movies, which is a crime in my humble opinion, but, the way it is here. I figured Beyonce wouldn't win, after all, Kyra Sedgewick is the Bomb in "the closer," and she deserved it, Beyonce is overhyped, yes, she has great talent, but, so do a lot of others, her role in Dreamgirls wasn't that great if u ask me, her skills were mediocre, her singing was good, not great, honestly, Jennifer stole the movie from her, plain and simple, i wonder do they really get along? Anyway, congratulations to ALL the winners, and the nominees, it's an honor, no matter what the outcome!

Has been mostly dominated be the facts that TWO males, both teens, Sean had been abducted nearly five years ago, Ben, only last week, but, BOTH were found alive, here in Kirkwood, a suburb of STL...i am very happy for both families, that the outcome has had such a BLESSED outcome....i hope Sean has not been too terribly damaged....what is more distressing to me is that the abductor has lived right HERE, and not neone suspected a thing, it tells me how sad it is that neighbors don't really know each other, or even pay attention to even the smallest details....signs of Sean had been posted EVERYWHERE, and whereas he has changed a lot, the fact that he was living right in the hood is a sad testament to how un neighborly we have ALL become....does neone remember how your neighbors told every little infraction to your parents and man did u ever get it when they found out? the ABSOLUTE worst was for one of your neighbors to report ANYTHING to your parents!!!!On another note, it sure is something to see ole George W humble isn't it? His televised speeches sure do lack their USUAL arrogance these days...lol, serves his ass right!

I am so frustrated on this day.....first off, my job has truly become one big damn headache, i truly wish i had not returned the call back in October to set up an interview, but, i must say that in doing so, and getting really into it, i thought i was doing one good job, only to find out that NEONE can go behind your back, and say whatever THEY feel is the truth about you, and BAM! b4 u know it, there's a write up in your record! Why is it that nurses always deneigrate each other? and only find what THEY perceive as faults, when, they have their own? and I am simply amazed that, even 2day, the cloud of racism STILL rears its head, esp. in nursing......white nurses simply cannot handle an African-American being in charge, and no matter how much support you show them, it always comes back 2 bite u in the butt! So, i am done with Dubuis, my last day comes @ the end of this month, right b4 my b/d, so, maybe i can celebrate in some peace.....and hopefully, get some work thru an agency.....wish me luck!

Frankly, i am glad to see 2006 leave as it means we get to vote on a new PRESIDENT sooner than later......less Bush days to contend with is a very good thing! I still am not sure Saddam Hussein is really dead, personally, i would like a DNA test performed, as i remember seeing some pictures a few years back of how many people look like him, so, do we really KNOW that he's gone? He had a lot of supporters, and how do we know that a switch wasn't made??? Just food for thought.... and that is the truth.....not only have we lived thru an ICE STORM.....and had 2 stay in a hotel for five whole days, but, Ameren simply doesn't seem to get it!!!and their rates haven't gone down one bit i might add...good news is that we were able to afford that luxury, whereas some had to try and "weather" it out @ home in the freezing cold........and some areas,(collinsville, ill.) has decided to DEFECT from Ameren as they are sick and tired of their non-taking care of business selves!!!lol....it is the eve of Christmas Eve, and you simply do not hear enough about Christ during the season, and He IS the reason we celebrate this holiday, but, heaven forbid we insult another person's beliefs or culture, to whivh I say, get real, IF you believe in God's Son, Jesus, then feel free to celebrate His birth, and those of you who take offense, get over it...this is the UNITED STATES, and we have the RIGHT to celebrate however and WHOMEVER we want....should u not agree, then, so be it, and let's move on to another topic........i am curious 2 c if we can have one holiday that Uncle B is able 2 attend, he has dialysis 2morrow, and should come 2 Mama's right after....so, we shall see......more on THAT later....in any event, be safe, stay warm,,,,,and,MERRY CHRISTMAS/HAPPY HANNUKAH/HAPPY KWANZAA/HAPPY NEW YEAR.........

LODGED in a hotel, as the power was lost (again) in STL after last weeks ice storm! Thank God, it was finally restored yesterday around 1300 hours(1p.m.) for those of u unfamiliar with military time. Ameren CLAIMS it's "not their fault,"....my question is then, why hasn't the problem of tree trimming not been dealt with? Their claim is that it was dealt with...um-hm....enuf of that......ok, who really cares that Bolton has resigned his UN post? & is enone surprised????and can u believ USC lost over the w/e? I am rooting 4 the Buckeyes enway, so, it's all good......ANTM is boring as boring can be...the final 3 should have ALL been gone weeks ago...and as we already know that a blonde will win.....why don't they just crown her and be done with this season!???? the weather is still cold, but, now i need 2 go and write my letters 2 Amaren!!!!!see ya!

THANKSGIVING.......and the day brought a lot of joy/fun/sadness ALL wrapped in one.......first of all, i wish to thank GOD for giving me another chance to create a supper that was wholesome and healthy.....we also honored Grandma P for her 93rd mark....and Judes writes so well, and i think she liked the angels obtained for her, one girl, one boy to represent her grand/great grandchildren....we did it early, so that Bret was here for same(he had 2work!).....our home looked really pretty, and the senoir members had only to get served...Tracy received his Cardinals baseball shirt and the photo album we made for him after the parade...so he now has his own memories of that great event....and the food was simply wonderful(even if i do say so myself!)...Jeremy said one of the most BEAUTIFUL prayers(and impressed everyone!)...Jarrod and Bernard came by.....so, it was ALL good....God blessed us again(as He always does!) Uncle B was not here as he spent the day in St. Mary's hospital....it has become very frustrating that for the past 3 years, he has spent most of the holidays confined 2 a hospital bed........and God also blessed us with a simply gorgeous,sunfilled day........Hope your day was filled with as much joy as ours!!!!!!!and it was also my Dad's 73rd birthday!!!!!!!HAPPY DAY DADDY!!!

TRUTH!!! i am referring to Ray Lewis' comment regarding the fact that Steve McNair was denied the use of the TN Titans locker room as he is no longer A player there....and Ray merely stated the truth when he said IF it had been Brett Favre OR Peyton Manning, the matter would not have happened, and people, let's get real, HAD it been a white player( or if STEVE) was a white player, that incident would NOT have happened, and those of us of COLOR KNOW this, so, quit giving Mr. Lewis grief for saying what WE all know is the truth.....why is it you all don't get it? to Gerald Levert and Jack Palance.......two opposite ends of the talent spectrum as one was an actor, and the other from a musical family.....Gerald lost his life after a heart attack while sleeping, and Jack had lived a long life......THREE very sad losses have occured this past week, and for those of you in the medical profession, we already KNOW that death ususally comes(or goes) in 3's.................thank ALL of you for giving us the opportunity of total enjoyment in all of your respective fields!

Uncle B, Michelle, and me @ the celebration parade yesterday!! J had 2 work, my mom bailed out(as usual,) but, that didn't stop OUR fun! My uncle B is wheelchair bound, and has been a Cardinal fan for a LOT of years....and whereas, it takes some planning (and some muscle) to take him anywhere, it was worth it to see him laugh and talk with all the other fans around us, who, were courteous/helpful/kind...and i would like to mention George, and his wife, Joanie, their daughter, and son in law, as well as the group of women who shared their champagne with Uncle B(made for a great pic!)......it was really a fun afternoon, weather was around 72, sun was beaming, but, not too hot....and i got some great pics.........we ended by eating @ Dominoes' and Uncle B called everyone and reported how much fun he had, and what a great view he had of everything.......NOW on a totally differnt note, reports are out, placin STL as the #1 city for the "highest crime,"....that does not really surprise me, as this city has the POOREST record for activities that are inclusive, UNLESS, your parents are able to afford private schools, the STLPS are the ABSOLUTE worst, and now that the deseg program has been abolished(mind u, AFTER county schools have reaped all the benefits!), what are the children to do, or go? And the young men that can't find jobs, and have dropped out of a system that doesn't even TRY to meet their needs/concerns, what else can you expect? This city offers NOTHING for the poor and minority sector, and with this GOP governor, you can believe, it won't change any time soon....hell KC was one of the biggest meth cites, just a few short months ago.......and most of the Caucasian race feel as though that as they are in the "burbs," it's not THEIR problem.......and people, poverty is EVERYONE'S problem.......i don't live in the city, but, i am only 10 minutes away from it, and as i have been robbed once, had a gun flourished during an "attempted" robbery, the answer is being involed in your communties' neighborhood watch program, looking out for your neighbors, calling the police if ANYTHING looks amiss, and stop being AFRAID to aide and assist if there is anything wrong.....not only will your neighbors appreciate it, YOU will feel better about yourself, AND your community!

watching all the sports yesterday, the football games were awesome, and the RAMS went into Lambeau Field, and beat the PACKERS and on Favre's 37th birthday, no less...THEN, believe it or not, KC beat the f/b Cardinals @ home, that was a nail-biter also, but, when the EAGLES shut up DALLAS, i was one hollering fool, that is, UNTIL, the STL CARDINALS clinched the whole show by kicking the Padres' butts all the way BACK to San Diego(sorry, Bev, but it WAS fun 2 watch!) the new BUSCH STADIUM up close and personal(thanks JMH!) and, yes, it is beautiful, but, NOT, handicapped accessible, as BOTH sets of elevators are POLAR opposite of each other.....makes no sense whatsoever, as the persons who can really AFFORD the seats may need those elevators! Cardinals lost, but, thanks to the ATL Braves, still clinched the NL division, AND, i did get 2c Mr. Pujols hit one out of the park, so, it's all good! that i just finished two very disturbing articles, one regarding the 5 year young female that died in the dentist's chair after receiving way too much analgesia for a 35 lb. child......and the fact that her mother was NOT allowed to remain in the exam room with her should also be investigated, apparently, when she was allowed back into the room(@discharge!), she found her unconscious, while his report stated she was alert and oriented.....ok, now, this only puts under scrutiny the current state of our insurance (or lack thereof,) in this country....the office is a storefront office, which i am sure takes ALL medicaid/medicare clients, and has, up to now been able to get away with shoddy practices.....these are the people that this administration has, and will con't to ignore...and now another child has lost her life, my question is, how many MORE will become mere statistics b4 enone recognizes the need for an inclusive insurance plan for ALL Americans?????? I have also finished reading two GREAT books covering the HK tragedy, which also reflects how the George W. Bush administration simply cares not one iota for the poor/minority population in this country.....how enone can simple allow people from YOUR own country to wait days for any help is simple beyond my scope of reason.....the books are: The Great Deluge by Douglas Brinkley, and Come Hell or High Water, by, Michael Eric Dyson, BOTH of which, i will have to purchase along with the documentary When the Levees Broke, by Spike Lee...and for ALL of you NON-minority persons who feel that racism is NOT alive and well in this country, i implore you to come into our world, and see what it feels like to be followed around in a store(and you have money to spend!) Little Abigail Woods was found alive and well....not far from her home! That was an gruesome story, and that the assailant used the excuse of needing a telephone to gain access....just goes to show how careful we must ALL stay during these times we live in.....but, the baby is fine and unhurt, so all prayers have been answered.........On a lighter note, the final Contender bout is now set, with Grady and Steve being the two finalists....i hoped Steve would OUTBOX K-9, but, he's so strong(K9), i was somewhat concerned, but, Steve held his ground and simply outboxed him! Grady was knocked down in the first round, but, managed to win most of the other four rounds....i kinda wanted Bravo to win that match, but, Grady wanted it MORE, and he won .......as this is premier week, some of the news shows have been interesting, Studio 60 held my interest, good opener.....didn't see the NBC openers, as i was checking out the Contender....oh well...........

to the MAN that captured my eye 21 years ago(only then he was a mere 16 year old!) I am truly sad that Andre Agassi has retired from tennis, it was apparent yesterday that his back was causing painful movement, but, he stuck it out, pushed through the pain , won the first two sets, but, Benjamin Becker (from germany) came back, and in the fourth set, he defeated the ABSOLUTE best (for me) in the past 21 years. I have watched his FIRST title, and watched his last defeat.....i was crying, not because HE lost, but, for what we will no longer see, and his metamorphes to the top of his game.Yes, he started off all wild and crazy, brought COLOR to the tennis matches with his flambouyant costumes, but, man, could he wham that ball, and send many a player right off the court in defeat...remember win he whipped Connors so bad, he played doubles till the end of his career? And what he does OFF the court is even more amazing.....Andre is what Tiger has done for golf.....a gem within a sea of stuffiness and narrow minds......KUDOS TO YOU ANDRE AGASSI.......YOU ARE SIMPLY..........THE MAN`````````````````````

I simply love to see Agassi play....and the drama seen when he and 21 year old Baghditis played was a true nail-biter, but, due to the younger developing "cramps," AND Agassi being the stronger, wiser player, he pulled it off....what was also nice is watching his wife,(steffie) worry/cheer/worry and be happpy for her mate.....they, to me, make a very nice couple, and what they do for underpriviledged children in Las Vegas cannot be ignored.....i never understood his marrage to brooke shields in the first place, he needed someone who could understand how the sport of tennis can tear your body up,.....i digress, James Blake won as did Federer(surprise) Hennin-Hardennne also moved ahead, but, Lindsay's match got rain delayed, as old "ERNESTO" decided to show his ugly head....Lindsay is another classic player to watch.....and i haven't seen Mauresmo play yet, but, she has advanced, nor have i seen Serena, who is sceduled to play 2night....should it stop raining, and according to the reports, it's supposed to rain for the next 24 hours.....i sure hope that is incorrect...........and that Sharopova won her match, but, i notice she always pulls such an easy draw.....and i wonder why that is...she needs to be challenged, just like everyone else on the courts, but, Miss Thing slides and glides her way through most tournaments, and then, when she has to play someone GOOD, she SHRIEKS her way through, really irritating...........

part one aired last night, and i must say, so far, very enlightening/frustrating/saddening AND thought provoking, how enone could sit and watch that, and NOT feel something is beyond me...Spike said few words, he let those who lived the experience tell the story....Douglas Brinkley was esp. honest, as was Dr. Eric _____, and the truth FINALLY came out regarding the Bush administrations' poor handling of this catastrophe....and as i have stated earlier, that Condi needs to sit her butt down somewhere, as HER priorities were what Ferragamos to buy/what Broadway show to see/and hitting tennis balls with Monica Selas.........real way to win over your people Condi......and Soledad O'Brien (surprse!) was very outspoken and honest.....and the one radio personality, simply broke down he felt so much pain, and the poor man whose mother died 09012005, while BAKING in the sun, without food or water, and had to be LEFT there.......it was one of the best shows i have seen in awhile.....good, no, GREAT job Spike, and i cannot wait to see 2night's final chapter, and to purchase this piece of OUR history.............but, this is NOT a racially/culturally/econonically divided country right???????

RAMS could not be seen on television last night only because the tickets did not "sell out!" I guess(as my sister states) that EVEN though 84% of the city was without power for a week doesn't matter to the powers that be...so what u don't have any FOOD, but buy some RAMS tickets or no televised game, that is indifferent and mean if u ask me....the good news is that the rams DID beat the Colts, barely, but a win, nonetheless, even if it was a PRE-SEASON GAME....it would have been nice to see it, and watch our defense, as well as all the guys we won't see after the season starts......BOO 2 the PR persons who made this silly rule......to not be concerned enough about your city to allow US the priviledge to see OUR team play!

My mom's electricity is finally on, but, her neighbors(across the street) still is not, nor is my legless uncle's....they finally went to a hotel last evening, but, do u think Ameren is even considering assisting ne of us without food or power? No, they fully intend to raise our rates!!!!!!!!! Al Sharpton was here yesterday, protesting the rates hike, whereas i DO NOT agree with him that the repair process is based on color lines, i do agree that Ameren should be willing to compensate persons for this week of absolute hell/frustration......sorry for the two workers, one who perished after being electrocuted, the other burned, and is now hospitalized....my condolences go out to their families for their loss......that still doesn't excuse Ameren for not being up on their game, and correcting these probs that exhibited themselves last summer.....my mom finally had her first real night of rest in nearly a week.....now i am off to write my letter to Ameren~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ameren now has commercials asking US to be patient, but, this is taking entirely too long....my mom has been without power for nearly one week, as has my uncle/his 93 year old mother in law, who is a CHF client...........mom did come over here for awhile yesterday, went to her sister's the day b4, but, refuses to leave her home, and as my cousin's home was burgalarized, that was all the fuel she needed to strengthen her resolve to stick it out, J has been with her the past couple of nights....and we won't even comment on the fact that stores have limited foods available, people have no food, as all of it has spoiled...and now the temps are beginning to rise again....letters need to be written....Ameren needs to compensate and absorb some of this cost....and NOT raise our rates...................

oN jULY 17, JTW celebrated his 22nd birthday.......for those of u who are NOT parents, be advised that when your child reaches the "young adult" stage of their lives, u will feel OLD....thankfully, J has finally realized the importance of an education, and is now on the Dean's list, and inducted into the National Honor Society(and yes, i bought the book!)...so, take heart, it gets better...........i love my son and i am proud of him, i would like him even if he wasn't my son, he's just an all-around good guy.......Now, on the first Contender last night, Mark Carter(from columbus,ohio) got his butt BEAT by Cornelius K9, i was rooting for mark, as he is a "buckeye" from Ohio(as am i), but, he was simply too damn cocky, showboating and carrying on in the ring, and K9 made him pay for it, by handing him a sound beat down....it was a good "first" match.....don't care that much for the Big Brother show, so, i cannot comment, but, Contender now shows on ESPN, so, check it out next Tuesday if u can.......and man is it HOT these days, so, drink plenty of water, and stay cool people!!!!!!

Andre couldn't hold on and win against Nadal.....it was hard to watch, but, the crowd was simply wonderful, and gave him lots of accolades....i am happy for Nadal, he's a great tennis player, and i wonder will it be he and Federer(as it was @ the French Open) in the final......Federer is tough NORMALLY, but, on grass he's a beast......well, will have to wait and see........and now i guess u're wondering how did Venus do???? I did see Shenay win her match EARLY this morning....pretty impressive, but, she has to get past this Russian on monday to advance, hope she can handle her.........Andy Roddick also lost to the Great Britain, Andy Murray, who, i might add, handled him well, in three sets.............
